TIMS3 Data Manager
HOW TO BUY

Data Manager empowers administrators to manage the TIMS3 system through simple menu driven interfaces.

Manage meta-data, complex security structures, table design and customization, and produce comprehensive reports quickly and easily through TDM. Detailed tracking and history logs assist administrators to manage both projects and documents easily.

With both a regular user and administrator interface TDM provides a wide range of productivity tools.

.DATA MANAGER

TIMS Data Manager: Administrator Interface

Data Manager is the primary administrative, forms and reporting tool. With a wide assortment of powerful tools and simplified interface, managers need little training to be effective TIMS3 administrators.

Meta-Data

TDM is a forms based application providing full query-by-form access to the TIMS3 document database. With simple querying tools the user can easily view matching project folders, documents or contact information.

DATA MANAGER

TDM also enables users to easily update or adjust project folders, documents or contact information using convenient form or list views. Form view displays a single record's information in an easy to read detail form. List view allows users to view all the files matching a query in a table format. List view is often preferred for performing multiple updates on several different records at a time.

TDM Security
TDM authenticates users against their Windows 2000/NT login, associating the user's status and group(s). The user will be given appropriate rights in TIMS3 matching their access rights. TIMS3 security is broken down into two interfaces: Access Rights and User Privilege Levels.

Access Rights govern the overall security structure of TIMS. These rights affect both users and reviewers - not administrators who are exempt from these rules. This is set up in an easy to use matrix covering: Projects, Company, Contact, Document, Document Sets and Revisions. For each of these system objects there are four access actions: Review, Edit, Insert and Delete, and four levels of permissions: All, Group, Owner or No Access. Using these tools administrators can easily create a very specific security model for their needs.

DATA MANAGER

User Privilege Levels is a table that stores the records of all the users on the TIMS3 system. Administrators can adjust individual user rights easily. Users can be assigned No Access, Review Only, Regular User, or Manager/Administrator Access privileges. The rights for Users and Reviewers are contingent upon the system Access Rights (above).

TDM is not only designed for administrators to use but for users as well. Generally, only super users would normally have access to this interface. Normal (super) users are restricted from accessing the Security and Administration menus. As well, these users would be restricted in their ability to alter records based on the systems Access Rights setup.

Administration Features
Using the Administration tool administrators with more advanced database skills can perform direct database table additions and changes. With a wide variety of tools table maintenance and configuration can be performed.

Administration also features handy monitoring and accounting systems to provide information on which PC's are presently accessing the system and overall PC usage. This information can be used to monitor the amount of time that a document has been opened. This is generally used for client billing and efficiency reporting.

File Transfers tools assist administrators to track and monitor document and project activity. This section contains the File Transfer Check-Out Log, File Transfer History Log and File Transfer Cleanup.

The File Transfer Check-Out Log displays the currently checked-out and copied-out documents on all client workstations.

The File Transfer History Log displays all the document actions of all the files on all the client workstations as a detailed history log. Very useful for audit-trail tracking.

File Transfer Cleanup enables users to cleanup checked out and copied out files from the current workstation.

Reporting
TDM comes complete with over 30 pre-designed reports for data analysis. Easy to use interface allows reports to be generated at a moments notice.

Design your own custom reports with the reporting wizard supplied with TIMS3 or integrate any ODBC compliant reports such as: MS Access or Crystal Reports .
