A quick search function allows you to locate drawings or projects
based on certain key database information. You access this function
from the options pull-down menu or by clicking on the search icon
,
or by pressing CTRL-F.
This brings up the search window that allows you to define project, document and/or index search criteria. For example, in the Projects folder you can specify the Project Name to search in, while in the Documents folder, you can force the search on Graphics documents only that has the keyword "layout" anywhere in the description. When you click on the Find Now button, the documents matching the search criteria are listed in the bottom part of the search window. You may then check out a document by right-clicking over the document name.
You can specify wild-card searches by using the "*" character in any position in the search string. Multiple search strings in the various fields will result in the system performing the record locate based on the logical AND combination of search criteria.
The search will display all projects that satisfy the supplied criteria, or the projects with documents that satisfy the search criteria. If you have executed a document search, and you click on a project that contains the document, all the documents in that project will be listed, with the searched documents highlighted.
Version 4 has added the ability for users to perform find files using the document number.
Under the project tab users can perform full path queries or partial paths combined with wildcard characters.

Searching on document indexes allows you to select any one of the 3 levels of indexes. By clicking on the expand icon alongside each of the index entry fields, you will see a list of the indexes currently defined in the database. You must click on the Find Now button after selecting or entering the indexes to display a list of matching documents.
