View Options

The TIMS3 Project Navigator’s window is divided into two main sections. On the left-hand side, you have the list box showing projects and sub-projects, document types and document sets. The right hand side provides a display of documents or files within the selected project.

Project Navigator Main Screen

The project navigator provides you two modes of operations, or views of project information:

  1. The database view allows you to see documents that are recorded and described in the TIMS3 document database. With this view, you can see other information from the database, such as the document type, the document ID and description.
  2. The file list view provides you with a listing of all files located in the server’s project directory, regardless of whether they are documented in the TIMS3 database. In the detailed file list, you can see file-related information such as the modified date and the file access rights.

You switch between these views from the View pull-down menu as indicated below:

Select View

All commands and operations in the TIMS3 Project Navigator perform exactly the same in either view. This section describes the operations assuming you are in the database view. However, it must be stressed that the system will respond in the same way if you are in the file list view.
