When you are in the Review mode, you can see the current set of revisions recorded against the current document by pressing the Revisions tab. The window as shown below will be displayed.

For each document revision, a protected file exists on the server with the file name consisting of the original working file name together with the revision number in parenthesis. For example, if we have a revision 01 of the document with the file name IE012.DGN, the file name of the revision will be IE012(01).DGN.

To view the revision details, select the particular revision of interest in the screen above and click on the Explode icon. A detailed form of revision information will be displayed as shown below.

If you click on the Review button, TIMS3 will copy out to your workstation the file corresponding to that revision and display it using the associated application. Note that the file will be copied out in a read-only mode, meaning that you will not be able to modify the local file. When you need to remove it from your workstation, you must do a Cancel Copy Out from the TIMS3 Navigator or from the File Transfer option in the TIMS3 Data Manager.
By right clicking on a specific revision you can review and edit the properties of the revision, including the revision description of the revision your created in the preceding section. The ability to edit revision properties is a user access right that must be turned on by your TIMS Manager. If this right is not been provided then you can only delete the existing revision, edit the document properties to change the 'work-in-progress' revision then recreate the revision.

Editing the revision properties and changing the Revision field will automatically change the name of the read-only server file.
WARNING: If you change the revision number you should also edit the document properties revision number to the next revision available if your change affects the maximum revision number used to date.
To create a new document revision, make sure you are in the document review mode and in the Revisions tab. Press the Insert button and a blank revision details form will be displayed in the Insert mode. Your username will be recorded in the Authors field as the default. After you have keyed in the required revision information with at least the revision number and title, click on the Save icon. TIMS3 will then record the revision record in the database, and it will create a protected file as a copy of the main working file with the revision file name as described previously.
If you have the required user access rights, you can delete document revisions when viewing the detailed revision information. When you are in the document review mode, move to the Revisions tab and click on the explode button alongside the revision that you wish to delete. The detailed revision information will be displayed. Now you can click on the Delete icon. You will be warned that this operation cannot be undone and that the corresponding revision file will be deleted from the server. After accepting both warnings, TIMS3 will proceed to delete the revision record and remove the associated file from the server.
