Searching for Existing Projects

You may search for project setup information by clicking the Filter icon. A search form is displayed to allow you to enter search criteria.

If you leave the search screen blank, all the project records will be retrieved. You can key in any search criteria into any of the fields shown in the form. You can specify wild-card searches by using the "*" character in any position.

In the example shown above, if you key in "*review*" in the project title field, TIMS3 will return all project records that have the string "review" in any position in the project title. Note that the search criteria entered is not case sensitive.

If you enter search criteria in multiple fields, all these criteria will be combined as a logical AND operation for returning corresponding records. If you want to search, for example, for records that have "review" or "preliminary" anywhere in the project title, you would:

  1. Enter "*review*" in the title field

  2. Click on the OR tab. The system will display a second blank form.

  3. Enter "*preliminary*" in the title field again.

  4. Execute the search function by clicking on the Refresh Query icon.

NOTE: The OR function is available only if you have a full license of Microsoft Access installed.

Alternatively, you can key in "*review* or *application*" in this field and click on the refresh query icon for the same results.

The icons used with the search form are explained in the previous Forms Overview section.
