Drag and Drop

Project Navigator provides easy to use drag-n-drop methods to create and manage Document revisions. In order to see what revisions exist you need to turn on the Revisions window display, using the Revisions > Show menu bar command (also available as (Ctrl s)When the revisions window is display edit lists all revisions for the selected file(s) in the Document List area.

If your TIMS Manager has enabled the right for you to use Drag-n-Drop and given you access rights to create revisions you can simply drag the file from the main document list window into the Revisions window.

A message box will ask you to verify action.

If the Site Settings, "System Tab", "Automatic Revision Locking" is checked then the File will become locked. The "locked" attribute is a quick indicator to users that the document has not been modified since the last revision was created. When the next user checks-out the document the document will become unlocked and the revision record will be incremented. If users try to create a new revision of the locked document the system will automatically generate an error message.

To unlock the document double click on the document icon and this message box will appear.

When clicking on "Yes" the document icon will change to "Checked Out" and the file will be unlocked.

Note: File must be "Checked In" before another revision can be made. Once "Checked In" you can Drag and Drop a new revision.

At this point you can change the revision number or leave as "Auto". If left as "Auto" and you have not defined the revision sequence then it will use the next available number.
